Konnin Tam, Managing Director, is co-head of Secondaries and Liquidity Solutions in the Private Equity Partners (PEP) business of BlackRock Alternative Investors (BAI).



Prior to joining BlackRock in 2018, Konnin was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager for private equity strategies in the Alternative Investments & Manager Selection (AIMS) Group at Goldman Sachs & Co. in New York. He served on the AIMS Private Equity Investment Committee which approves all secondaries, primaries and co-investments globally, and was also a member of the AIMS Real Estate and the AIMS Credit, Distressed and Opportunistic Investment Committees. Konnin has over 14 years of experience at Goldman Sachs Asset Management investing across private equity secondaries, primaries and direct co-investments with a specialization in buyouts, energy and resources, real estate, infrastructure and emerging markets. He led the sourcing, due diligence and execution of over $2 billion in secondary transactions involving energy/resources and infrastructure-focused private equity portfolios. Konnin also led a variety of business development and innovation initiatives for the AIMS Private Equity business including the development of multi-strategy private markets solutions and the real estate and energy secondaries and primaries efforts.



Prior to joining the AIMS private equity business in 2004, Konnin was an Associate in the Global Natural Resources Group in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs, based in New York, where he analyzed and executed M&A and financing transactions in the energy and power sectors. He began his career at Goldman Sachs in 1999 and was named Managing Director in 2010.
