Prior to founding Alphi, Thecla was a member of the investment team at a leading Canadian mid-market private equity firm from 2004 to 2022 focused on investments in the consumer, healthcare and telecom industries. In the 12 years that Thecla was a Partner, she spent the last four as an Operating Partner and as CEO of one of the private equity firm’s portfolio companies leading its successful turnaround – both cultural and financial.

Prior to joining her former firm, Thecla worked on the start-up of Porter Airlines, was a consultant at Bain & Company and spent three years in the Chairman’s Office of George Weston Limited.

Thecla received her MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario where she graduated as an Ivey Scholar and her BA (Honours) from the University ofWestern Ontario.

Thecla serves on the board of Restaurant Brands International and Motion LP.
