Chika Onyeukwu is a distinguished Economist with a track record of excellence in macroeconomic policy, economic modeling, financial analysis, corporate strategy, and risk management. With a career spanning diverse sectors and continents, Chika has consistently demonstrated his expertise in quantitative and qualitative analysis, empirical research, and synthesizing complex data.

Chika started off his career with a brief stint as a Graduate Assistant, the equivalent of an Assistant Professor in the Economics and Statistics Department of the University of Benin. He was teaching undergraduate Macroeconomics and Economic Statistics. He, thereafter, joined the Financial Control and Strategic Planning Department of Zenith Bank Plc, the biggest bank in West Africa by Tier-1 capital and profitability. As a Senior Economist and Financial Analyst at Zenith Bank Plc, he led a team of Analysts in successfully securing a US$1 billion senior unsecured Eurobond from a European consortium of lenders. He also redesigned the bank’s 4-year corporate strategy and led the corporate governance audit.

He was an Executive Vice-President for Corporate Strategy and Planning for PeakPerfly Incorporated, a Start-Up Consulting firm with a niche in Leadership Effectiveness and Corporate Strategy. He previously served as the Head of Research & Strategy at the Council of Entrepreneurs for Africa, a not-for-profit Consulting firm. He is currently the Program Coordinator at the Pan African School of Policy Innovation (PASPi) where he drives economic policy innovation.

Chika holds a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Leeds, UK. He studied as a Tetley and Lupton Fellow, after being awarded the Tetley and Lupton International Postgraduate Scholarship at the University of Leeds. He earned a first-class honours Bachelor of Science in Economics & Statistics from the University of Benin, Nigeria, emerging the best graduating student and the class valedictorian.

He remains dedicated to advancing economic and financial understanding, to shape and influence economic discourse on a global scale.
