Due to the strong appetite for infrastructure assets by institutional equity investors globally, there has been a compression of returns resulting from this growing demand and the current level of “dry powder”.  The recent pace of inflation and rising rates will impact investment returns for equity assets.  This dynamic has created an environment where high-yield infrastructure debt returns are comparable to equity returns, with less risk. Similarly, with the threat of a weak macroeconomic environment ahead, infrastructure debt should continue to outperform leveraged loans and high-yield bonds.
