Description
Sagard Credit Partners (“SCP”, or the “Fund”) is a Canadian middle-market direct lender based in Toronto with offices in Montreal and New York. SCP is a direct lender that specializes in providing bespoke debt financing solutions to underserved non-sponsor backed middle market companies in Canada and U.S. where it looks to invest as senior secured or first-lien lenders. The Fund launched in December 2017 after receiving a $100 million seed investment from Sagard Holdings (a wholly owned subsidiary of Power Corp of Canada, a diversified international management and holding company).
Sagard Holdings invests in equity and debt capital, and specializes in conducting deep, proprietary analysis and working constructively alongside management teams of small and mid-sized public and private companies in North America.
The SCP investment team is led by Adam Vigna, Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer, who was previously global head of credit investing at the Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board (“CPPIB”), and began his career at Goldman Sachs’ Special Situations Group. The SCP Portfolio Manager is Mustafa Humayun, has worked with Adam Vigna at both CPPIB and Goldman Sachs.
As of June 2018 the Fund has funded four investments, and is expected to deploy capital in a total of 15-20 investments up to its target fund size of US$500M.
