Roberta is responsible for developing Capitalworks’ growth equity investment strategy across the middle-income countries of Asia, Latin America, and Central Europe. Until January 2020, Roberta was a managing director with Canadian pension fund CDPQ. Her role at CDPQ included identifying and developing key local partners and private-markets transactions in emerging markets, with a focus on Latin America and India.
Roberta has been an emerging-markets private equity investor since the 1990s. Before joining CDPQ in early 2015, she was chief investment officer at TAU Investment Management, focusing on impact investing in South and Southeast Asia. Prior to that, she was one of the original partners in Abris Capital, a growth buyout firm investing in Central Europe. In the 2000s, Roberta served as managing director at Emerging Markets Partnership, manager of the AIG Infrastructure Funds, where she invested in North and Southeast Asia. In the 1990s, she was an investment officer at the International Finance Corporation, the private-sector arm of the World Bank, and was also a private equity investor with NCH Capital, an Eastern Europe-focused fund manager.
Roberta holds an MBA from Georgetown University and an AB from Harvard College. She works in New York and lives in Manchester-by-the-sea, Massachusetts.
