John is Head of Externally Managed Investments at the Workers’ Compensation Board - Alberta ($11 billion under management). He has spent over 39 years in the investment industry having started as a stockbroker then working at the Alberta Teachers Retirement Fund, the TELUS Pension Fund, Alberta Revenue’s Investment Management Division and finally at the WCB. John’s investment experience is quite varied including equities, real estate, mortgages and private equity and for the last 16 years his focus has been on external manager selection and management covering all asset classes. John has an MBA from McGill University and is a CFA charter holder.
