Azadeh Sabour, Senior Vice President, built and leads the Climate Solutions product unit at Morningstar Sustainalytics. The mandate of the unit is to build innovative data and research products that support financial institutions in making informed decisions about addressing climate risks in portfolio management and aligning with climate policies and reporting expectations that aim to drive the broader objective of transitioning to a low carbon economy. A veteran of Sustainalytics for over 16 years, she’s held various roles, starting as an ESG research analyst, then as a sustainability intelligence advisor to corporates and partners. In this capacity, Azadeh contributed to the successful publication of several public and client-commissioned reports, which explored responsible investment and ESG best practices. For instance, in 2014, in collaboration with Ceres, she co-authored Gaining Ground: Corporate Progress on the Ceres Roadmap for Sustainability. For ten years, she contributed to the growth and professionalization of Sustainalytics’ global Client Relations team, first as a client advisor to institutional investors, then as a regional lead for North America. She then led global operations, enablement, and strategic initiatives of the Client Relations team for three years, prior to establishing the Climate Solutions product unit. She holds a bachelor’s degree in fashion design and business from Ryerson University (Toronto) and a master’s degree in business administration from the Rotman School of Management (Toronto).
