Gordon Power has more than 30 years of private equity experience and has over the past six years brought together the Earth Capital member companies and management teams. In addition to being the CIO of the Nobel Sustainability Fund and Earth Capital, he sits on the investment committees of each of the Earth Capital affiliates.
He previously founded the private equity business named ProVen Private Equity (now re- named Beringea) and led its buy-out from Guinness Mahon in 1997. As CEO of ProVen from 1984 until 2004, he spearheaded the creation and marketing of funds and the investment and exit of deals as head of the investment committee. In 2003 ProVen had funds under management of £185 million including Guinness Flight VCT, ProVen VCT and ProVen Media VCT (now re-named ProVen Growth and Income VCT) and funds from institutions such as Hargreaves Lansdown, Gulf International Bank, Standard Life, and Essex County Council.
He has invested in more than 247 investments over the last 34 years, generating an IRR of 28.4%. During this time he has made several sustainable technology investments including investments in forestry, plastic recycling, eco-friendly building materials and brand packaging businesses. He has generated an IRR of 45% from 30 sustainable private equity investments.
